Metal Bending and Folding

Metal bending and folding are essential fabrication techniques used to shape sheet metal into precise angles and forms required for custom electrical enclosures, duct covers, brackets, and other components.

These processes allow flat sheets of metal to be transformed into strong, functional parts that fit perfectly within switchboards, control panels, and industrial installations.
Whether for prototyping or large-scale production, expert metal bending and folding services deliver high-quality, reliable sheet metal parts that enhance the functionality and durability of electrical systems and industrial equipment.

Custom Sheet Metal Forming for Electrical Components

Every enclosure, bracket, and duct cover starts as a flat sheet. What gives it strength, shape, and a proper fit is how it is bent and folded.

Our press brake work forms flanges, returns, channels and folded edges to the angles your drawings call for. Getting those bends right is what lets doors close squarely, panels sit flush, and components line up when they reach the switchboard.

We form mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, from simple brackets through to multi-fold enclosure bodies.

Why Bending and Folding Quality Matters

Accurate Angles

Consistent bend angles keep doors, covers and panels sitting square once assembled.

Rigid, Durable Forms

Folded edges and flanges add stiffness, so thin sheet becomes a strong, load-bearing part.

Repeatable Results

The same part folds the same way on the first unit and the fiftieth.

Better Fit and Assembly

Correct forming reduces the trimming and adjustment that slow down assembly.

Smooth Production Flow

Bending sits between cutting and welding, so accurate forming keeps the whole build on schedule.

Formed, Cut and Welded Under One Roof

Parts are rarely finished at the bend. Flat blanks are typically cut first, formed next, then welded and assembled. When these steps happen on the same site, the people forming the part can see how it will be cut and joined, and problems are caught early.

That coordination is why our formed components go together cleanly. It also means any change to a design can be handled quickly, without parts being sent between suppliers.

  • Flat blanks prepared through our laser cutting capability
  • Bend sequences planned around the finished part
  • Formed parts passed directly to welding and assembly
  • Direct communication between fabrication and switchboard teams
  • Design changes handled without third-party delays

Metal Bending and Folding FAQs

Answers to common questions about bending and folding sheet metal.

Bending shapes sheet metal to an angle. Folding turns an edge over to make it stronger and neater. Both start with a flat sheet of metal.
